Embrace - launched with a bill board

Life Network Australia - Friday, September 17, 2010

The mission of 'Embrace' is to change the mindset of society on abortion by media advertising. Their first large billboard was put up on North Road, Ormond (corner of Koornang Road), Melbourne, in September 2010. It points to www.embrace.org.

On the practical side they aim to gather and mobilise the women of the church to come alongside women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant and journey with them to see their pregnancies fulfilled. Embrace currently has 15 women in the Bayside suburbs of Melbourne trained to be 'Embrace friends' to a pregnant woman in crisis.

They will be increasing their media advertising as time goes on and so it is their long-term goal to build a network of churches and friends across Melbourne and beyond who are willing to embrace pregnant women into their care.

The Embrace website aims to inspire hope for pregnant women in crisis and connect these women with an encouraging friend. Most importantly the website seeks to redefine the way society thinks about crisis pregnancy and abortion, with positive messages about choice, value and courage. Also on the website are inspirational testimonies of women who have fulfilled their pregnancies in spite of the obstacles. And ultimately, the website points to God and His Word as being the real source of hope.

'Save the Unborn' party

Life Network Australia - Sunday, September 05, 2010

Join Save the Unborn Party

In Australia we have political parties prepared to defend the rights of animals, eucalyptus trees and the River Murray, yet not one single party is prepared to make a firm stand against the systematic killing of unborn babies. That is why it is time to start a new political party –– a party whose primary purpose is to defend the unborn babies, called Save the Unborn.

It has been said, “A society's greatness is measured by the way it treats its weakest members.”  So, how do we treat our smallest and most defenceless fellow human beings?

To start with, nearly 90,000 babies are aborted every year in Australia...

Do we hear about these deaths or the other horrors of abortion? Of course not! It is too disturbing. Too confronting. But we know in our soul the killing of babies in the womb or leaving them to die while struggling for breath is profoundly wrong. It is a terrible injustice –– an injustice that betrays the most weak among us!

End the silence and be a voice for those who have no voice ––  join Save the Unborn.

For more information Trevor Grace 0432 862 865.

Save the Unborn believes that when the unborn child is viewed as a unique individual  human being, then life-giving alternatives to abortion would willingly and eagerly be sought after.

In fact, we would even demand to find ways, compassionate, creative and practical ways, to support pregnant girls and women, and their unborn babies, in all circumstances.

0800UCHOOSE – New Zealand

Life Network Australia - Saturday, July 24, 2010

John and Janine Grant of Auckland have started a group which provides practical help and support to women who are pregnant and looking at their options. Their group is called 0800UCHOOSE which doubles as their (New Zealand) phone number.

0800UCHOOSE are a Christian couple who offer support and love to help women thinking about abortion or adoption. They have a very strong passion for families, especially young women struggling with doubt, worry and impending motherhood. Whether this is in the form of hands on care of mother and/or baby or in other ways. They are raising 8 children of their own ranging from 4 up to 21 years, three of whom no longer live at home and one who has become part of the family.

On their website they say “You might say this site is pro-life and yes, we are for life - your life. I’ve sat with girls as they have cried after they’ve had an abortion and heard their pain. We’d like to spare you that pain if we can. If with our help you can get to the end of your pregnancy then you’ll be able to make a decision you can live with.”

Brave Foundation

Life Network Australia - Friday, July 23, 2010

Brave Foundation is a Tasmanian-based, nationwide organisation that supports women facing unexpected and teenage pregnancy. They seek to provide the necessary support and guidance to ensure that unexpected pregnancy is not a life-ending or education-less predicament. They aim to see that these women have access to community support and educational services, from early pregnancy through their child’s early childhood.

Brave Foundation has been established by Bernadette Black, author of ‘Brave Little Bear’. Bernadette hopes to use her experience as a teenage mother, to bring hope and encouragement to others in this situation. She is a mother of three, a Registered Nurse, speaks throughout Australia, and was awarded ‘Bernardos Australian Women of the Year’ in 2009.

The Babes Project

Life Network Australia - Thursday, June 03, 2010

The Babes Project exists to support women facing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy, promoting adoption as a positive alternative to abortion

They are working to build The Babes Project House, a place where a woman can come, be educated during her pregnancy and supported though the process of choosing adoption or parenting. This will include offering options counselling and an education program.

They are aiming to educate the nation on the facts of abortion and the negative impact an abortion can have on an individual and family.

The Babes Project believes in promoting adoption as a positive option and working to change adoption attitudes and legislation in our nation. They will make it a more viable alternative to abortion.

Life Vote - helping you vote for life

Life Network Australia - Monday, April 05, 2010

With state elections looming for Victoria and NSW in 2010, it is vitally important to learn which candidates in your electorate are pro life, to support them and to encourage your family and friends to also vote for life on polling day. We have seen the influence of pro abortion politicians in the decriminalisation of abortion in Victoria in 2008.

Victorians may keep up to date and informed through Life Vote.

Life Vote was formed following the Victorian Abortion Law Reform Act, to campaign against and defeat pro-abortion MPs at the 2010 State election.  Life Vote believes that "every person in Victoria has the right to life, that women in crisis pregnancies should be offered real help and counselling" and that "pro-life doctors, nurses and other medical personel deserve freedom of conscience".  Their vision is a pro-life government ... "A government that respects the right to life of all people in Victoria, including unborn children".

Victims of Abortion

Life Network Australia - Thursday, February 04, 2010

Victims of Abortion Trauma Counselling and Information Services (VOA) is an organisation founded in 1999, in order to offer post abortive men and women a safe place and sacred space where it would be possible for them to be able to speak about their abortion experience and their sadness/feelings following this procedure.

VOA was founded by Anne who is herself an abortive woman who has travelled into the depths of despair, trauma, and experienced grief and slowly, with help from some special people, experienced a complete healing from God.

Today Anne is joyful in her life and following further studies is now a qualified counsellor, and counsels from a Catholic/Christian perspective.
