40 Days for Life seeking support in Perth

Life Network Australia - Monday, January 10, 2011

Hello,

My name is Joanne Cicchini and I am part of a small committee who are launching Perth's very first "40 Days for Life" campaign. I have attached a brochure to give you an idea of what the campaign is about.

Part of our campaign is to let as many Christian people know about 40 Days for Life and we are currently printing up brochures, fliers and posters. We intend to do a mail out in the Koorong catalogue in February, but we are also very keen to promote the campaign in church newsletters.

I was wondering if your church circulated newsletters, either by mail or email and if you would be willing to put a small insert in that newsletter about 40 Days for Life? We are currently creating a smaller advertisement, as well as the brochure, so that it is easily included in a newsletter or bulletin.

Could you please email me or phone me on 0439 657 597 or email me back to let me know if you would be willing to include this in your next newsletter? 40 Days for Life will run from the 9th March til the 17th April 2011.

Thanks very much.

Joanne Cicchini

The international 40 Days for Life phenomenon

Life Network Australia - Sunday, October 17, 2010

The international 40 Days for Life phenomenon began in the US in 2007 and comprises 40 days of concerted prayer, fasting and peaceful protest outside abortion clinics. The event occurs twice per year in Spring and Autumn, and has quickly spread to Canada, Australia, the UK and other parts of Europe.

Across the world, the unified efforts of people of faith and conscience has witnessed astounding outcomes. According to the campaign website:
• More than 350,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion
• More than 11,500 church congregations have participated in the 40 Days for Life campaigns
• Reports document 2,811 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
• 38 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry
• Seven abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns
• Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets
• More than 850 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast (in the US)... and overseas
• Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery

After so many years of struggle, many people of faith are experiencing a renewed sense of hope! The current campaign has been running for just two weeks and over 300 babies are known to have been saved.

Joining 236 locations around the world, 40 Days for Life prayer vigils are currently being held outside abortion clinics in Melbourne and Adelaide, with groups planning subsequent vigils at Newcastle and possibly other Australian locations in the future. Meanwhile, faithful pray-ers continue long term vigils outside abortuaries in Melbourne, Albury, Tweed Heads and other cities.

If you live in Melbourne or Adelaide, we encourage you to set aside an hour or two to spend with the local 40 DFL team. Your simple act will have profound consequences in the battle for life. If you can’t make Melbourne or Adelaide, you might consider planning a campaign in your city next time.

STAND24 prayer siege - Melbourne

Life Network Australia - Sunday, October 17, 2010
"Stand for something or fall for anything"
A message from life4life

What is STAND24?
On November 24th 2010, 12.00am-11:59pm, you are invited to stand united and motivated by love, at Parliament House Melbourne for a 24hr Silent Siege. It is a 24hr stand in taking our position in the gap for the unborn and families devastated by abortion (which is quickly increasing since the decriminalization bill in Victoria.)

Our artilery is prayer, being seated with Christ, pleading His blood over our city and interceding for righteous rulers to come forth. We make our appeal to the higher courts of heaven and believe that STAND24 will shift principalities and powers in the unseen realms. We stand in the gap, just as Jesus stood for us, and we cry out "God have mercy on Melbourne". STAND24 takes place just days before a new leadership is voted in and announced for Victoria on Saturday November 27, 2010.

What is the Silent Siege?
“Lay siege against it, build a siege wall against it… Set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it.” (Ezekiel 4:2-3 NKJV)

A Silent Siege is just this—we build up a wall and stand in the gap on behalf of our nation (Ezekiel 22:30). It is an incredible strategy given in a dream from the Lord. It has become a phenomenon that catches the eyes and hearts of the world. When we make a stand outside of government or an abortion clinic, our stand is for life, justice and mercy.

When LIFE is written on a piece of red tape and placed on our mouths, we are identifying with the silent cries of the unborn and of those who have no voice.

Our stand is not a protest, but a silent prayer meeting. We make our appeal to the Judge of the earth and ask Him for speedy justice to be released. It is a plea— “Oh, that God would subpoena the conscience of Australia!”

How will it take place?
There will be a core leadership team taking shifts for 3 hour prayer sets. All of whom are well equipped to assist you with life tape, prayer focus, and a quick run down of life4life and sieging protocol. (We have a good reputation with security at parliament and show them respect at all times during a silent siege). The prayer leader will invite you to share your insight and prophetic words with the group, and you will be invited to take communion together. You are welcome to take breaks as needed, but we do encourage you to go in pairs for toilet breaks etc, especially at night and early morning hours for your safety.

Whether you give give 1/2 an hour or 1/2 a day, your prayers count. Stand in love and boldness, and be counted come November 24, 2010.

Life Vote helps sponsor the highly successful Life Dinner and we wish to thank all those who attended and supported the evening.

Since then there have been highly successful public meetings with US abortion survivor, Melissa Odhen, and prayer breakfasts with ministers of religion and supporters to get our message out  to church congregations.

Over 40,000 of the Life Vote 'Lady Leaflet’ have been distributed to church and community groups. Keep up the good work.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
1. Visit your ministers of religion and ask them to inform their congregations. You can obtain copies of the Life Vote Lady Leaflet by calling Gabrielle Walsh at 03 9816 0800, or email: gwalsh@family.org.au
2. Please inform friends and family about the Victorian decriminalisation of abortion. You can email the attached electronic copy of the Lady Leaflet or put it on your social networking page.

40 Days for Life vigil - Adelaide

Life Network Australia - Thursday, September 30, 2010

From September 22 to October 31, our community will be one of many joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history - the 40 Days for Life campaign.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

•40 days of prayer and fasting
•40 days of peaceful vigil
•40 days of community outreach

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city - and throughout Australia.

Take a stand for life!

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facility from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm. Each day for 40 days.

You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at:

Pregnancy Advisory Centre
21 Belmore Tce Woodville Park
Adelaide, SA 5011

For more information, or to sign up, go to the 40 Days for Life website.

How can you help?

Life Network Australia - Wednesday, September 22, 2010

A message from The Babes Project.

Imagine having no one to support you through one of the most challenging and wonderful times in your life... the birth of your child.

At The Babes Project we are endeavoring to train some of our leaders as Doulas for pregnancy and birth and also for after the birth (postpartum).

The approximate cost to train one person is $450.

We ask you to consider sponsoring a leader to complete this training so that we may offer this important service to women as we journey with them through pregnancy and beyond.

Please contact Bec at bec@thebabesproject or on 0423053096 if you’d like to discuss this further.
