LifeVote prepares for the Vic election

Life Network Australia - Thursday, September 30, 2010

It’s now only 2 months to the Victorian state election on November 27, and Life Vote is gearing up for this important campaign. KEEP NOVEMBER 27 FREE.

Life Vote helps sponsor the highly successful Life Dinner and we wish to thank all those who attended and supported the evening.

Since then there have been highly successful public meetings with US abortion survivor, Melissa Odhen, and prayer breakfasts with ministers of religion and supporters to get our message out  to church congregations.

Over 40,000 of the Life Vote 'Lady Leaflet’ have been distributed to church and community groups. Keep up the good work.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
1. Visit your ministers of religion and ask them to inform their congregations. You can obtain copies of the Life Vote Lady Leaflet by calling Gabrielle Walsh at 03 9816 0800, or email: gwalsh@family.org.au
2. Please inform friends and family about the Victorian decriminalisation of abortion. You can email the attached electronic copy of the Lady Leaflet or put it on your social networking page.
3. Organise a polling booth in your electorate. Ask family and friends to do 2-3 hrs handing out how to vote cards for pro-life candidates on November 27. Call Gabrielle Walsh at 03 9816 0800, or email: gwalsh@family.org.au

Life Vote stands for: support, counselling and information on the medical and psychological risks of abortion; protection for young pregnant girls; banning late-term and partial-birth abortions; and respecting the conscience of healthcare workers.

40 Days for Life vigil - Adelaide

Life Network Australia - Thursday, September 30, 2010

From September 22 to October 31, our community will be one of many joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history - the 40 Days for Life campaign.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

•40 days of prayer and fasting
•40 days of peaceful vigil
•40 days of community outreach

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city - and throughout Australia.

Take a stand for life!

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facility from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm. Each day for 40 days.

You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at:

Pregnancy Advisory Centre
21 Belmore Tce Woodville Park
Adelaide, SA 5011

For more information, or to sign up, go to the 40 Days for Life website.

How can you help?

Life Network Australia - Wednesday, September 22, 2010

A message from The Babes Project.

Imagine having no one to support you through one of the most challenging and wonderful times in your life... the birth of your child.

At The Babes Project we are endeavoring to train some of our leaders as Doulas for pregnancy and birth and also for after the birth (postpartum).

The approximate cost to train one person is $450.

We ask you to consider sponsoring a leader to complete this training so that we may offer this important service to women as we journey with them through pregnancy and beyond.

Please contact Bec at bec@thebabesproject or on 0423053096 if you’d like to discuss this further.

March for the Babies - Melbourne October 9

Life Network Australia - Friday, September 17, 2010

A PEACEFUL WITNESS TO LIFE

On October 10, 2008, the Victorian Parliament passed the Abortion Law Reform Act, one of the most extreme abortion laws in the world. This law eliminated all legal protection for Victorian children until the moment of birth.

In remembrance of this shameful day, we gather to march for the babies who never see the light of day in Victoria. The babies of every one in three pregnancies. The more than 20,000 babies killed in Victoria every year.

Together we express our profound disapproval with our Government's failure to:

Protect the fundamental right to life of every person in our state.
Offer real help to women in crisis pregnancies, and others who have suffered through abortion.
Allow freedom of conscience for our health care professionals.

Our goal is to overturn this terrible law and provide full legal protection to our most vulnerable Victorians.

Please join us, as we march in this peaceful witness to life, from Treasury Gardens to Parliament House, and hear inspirational speakers and music with a message of courage and hope. There's a long road ahead, but we shall overcome!

WHEN & WHERE Saturday October 9, 2010 at 2:00pm in the Melbourne Treasury Gardens.
