Redeeming Grief

Life Network Australia - Thursday, February 04, 2010

Redeeming Grief is a reflection of and study of abortion grief, which is experienced by some women who choose to undergo this elective procedure. These reflections are the result of listening to over 1000 personal stories and listening to the expressions used by the women as they spoke about their decision to abort the life of their child. These reflections then attempt to reconstruct the meaning that this procedure has had for the aborting woman and how this one procedure has been the catalyst for life changes.

Redeeming Grief looks at abortion trauma and grief from the spiritual and the psychological perspective. Its influences on the individuals involved and society. It is hoped that the language used is reader friendly and the concepts (both spiritual and psychological) are also reader friendly.

Donate for free ultrasound – When all the facts are needed

Life Network Australia - Wednesday, January 13, 2010

One of the most heartbreaking situations that a woman can find herself in, is to discover the foetal development of an aborted baby after the fact. The emotional and psychological impact can be extremely damaging and is often long term. Women deserve the opportunity to be fully informed about this development prior to making a decision about the future of their pregnancy.

‘IN-SIGHT’ is intended to enable women to access this information at the time of decision making by providing free and readily available ultra sound scanning: offering an immediate and convenient option of seeing the developmental stage of the foetus before making an irreversible choice.

Our goal, at Genesis, is to purchase a $50 000 machine which is portable and 4D compatible. So far, amazingly, we have raised $29 000!

Being portable, we will be able to make the machine available to other pro-life agencies as well, so that it is put to maximum use. With your help, we can do this, and be able to offer the first free ultra sound imaging available in South Australia.

Genesis Pregnancy Support is a pregnancy support agency providing options counselling for people facing an unplanned pregnancy. We provide telephone and face to face counselling free of charge and offer material assistance where possible. We also offer post abortion counselling. We are completly relient upon donations as we do not receive any funding. All our workers are volunteers.

To make a donation, contact Genesis at genesispregnancysupport@msn.com.

Melbourne Launch of the Benenson Society....the pro life alternative to Amnesty International

Life Network Australia - Wednesday, December 09, 2009

Melbourne Launch of the Benenson Society....the pro life alternative to Amnesty International

The April 2007 decision of the International Executive of Amnesty International to adopt a pro abortion policy forced many pro life supporters to withdraw from the organization.

At the time of the decision, Cardinal Martino, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, warned Amnesty International that it had disqualified itself as a defender of human rights. Here in Australia, Jesuit priest Father Chris Middleton, School Principal of St Aloysius College in Sydney, whose pleas to AI to resist such a policy had fallen on deaf ears, decided to give pro life opponents of the human rights abuse of prisoners of conscience, torture, kidnapping and "disappearances", an alternative to Amnesty International.  He founded the Benenson Society, named after Peter Benenson, the Catholic founder of Amnesty International.

The Melbourne Catholic Archdiocese's  Office for Justice and Peace is pleased to invite you to commemorate this International Human Rights Day with the Melbourne launch of the Benenson Society by Father Tony Kerin, Episcopal Vicar for Justice. The Society aims to provide all people with the opportunity to be involved in the promotion and defence of human rights. It  intends to lobby governments on behalf of prisoners of conscience, to work for the abolition of torture and the death penalty.

International Human Rights Day will be marked with an address by the Hon. Clovis Alidor Mwamba Member of Parliament, Congo, (in exile) journalist, author, victim of torture, campaigner for democracy, human rights and rule of law.

Thursday 10 December 2009, 2.00 p.m. - 3.00 p.m at the Knox Room, Thomas Carr Centre, 278 Victoria Parade Melbourne.

In part it reads:

"Your petitioners call upon your Honourable House to uphold the sanctity of human life and to defend the fundamental right of children to be born, by rejecting any and all attempts by advocates of abortion to initiate in New South Wales legislation emulating the Victorian Abortion Law Reform Act 2008, and your petitioners call upon your Honourable House to seek ways and means of promoting to the people of New South Wales the truth that each baby is a wonderful gift from God, deserving protection and nurturing from conception.

Please print it out, collect signatures and send to Christian Democratic Party (Fred Nile Group, 9 Exeter Road, Homebush West NSW 2140).
